Our August Upgrades are live!

Here is a list of what they are:


  • The Beneficial Ownership Table

The new Beneficial Ownership declaration has caused quite a stir in our industry! The process is complex and a lot to take in, with the deadline around the corner.

We are excited to introduce phase 1 of our Beneficial Ownership rollout to make this new requirement easier for you and your team.

A CIPC Beneficial Ownership table has been introduced within the CIPC Department. All clients where the CIPC Annual Return has been switched on in the Client table will have scheduled in the CIPC Beneficial Ownership table as well. We have added 01/10/2023 as the due date for all applicable clients for the first submission. After the 1 Oct deadline, the next beneficial ownership submission will be scheduled with the same due date as the CIPC Annual return for each year. Should they extend the deadline, we will amend the records for this first round.

This is the first phase of the rollout. We are currently working on a feature to help ease the complexity of compiling a company's lineage for submission. This will be included in our next rollout.

  • Once-Off Custom Tasks Table

Based on feedback from you, our valued users, we have introduced a Once-off Custom task table in the Firm & Adhoc task department. This table will enable you to log any once-off task that we currently do not schedule for. Previously, once-off tasks needed to be created in the Specialized Scheduler table. This proved confusing to many users and the new, dedicated table was introduced as a result. Putting this in its own table gives a lot more freedom and better functionality. The old once-off option has been removed from the Specialized Scheduler table, and historical tasks will remain unaltered.


Part of yesterday's rollout was an improvement to the All Tasks Due report and the Advanced Filters. This impacted the pre-saved advanced filters. When you log in today, you will need to set up these filters again. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. We are currently building in processes to make sure this does not happen with our future upgrades.

New Additions

  • The 'Your to-do list for the next 30 days' report that also goes out on a Monday morning will now include the Firm Name for users with multiple firms, as well as the assigned partner and manager for each task.

  • We have changed the column order in the Rate Group table. This is the start of a process to simplify the way that rates and retainers are captured in DataGrows.

  • A 'Vat Payable/(Refundable)’ amount column has been introduced in the Vat Returns table for you to capture the amount payable/refundable for each return. This can also be included in the VAT Return email that can be sent out to your clients. To do this, right-click in the text editor on the ‘VAT returns to clients’ email and select [Vat Payable/(Refundable)].

  • A Progress column has been introduced to the Provisional Tax Returns table, so you will know exactly where you are in the process of each return.
