Related Parties: Directors, Members & Trust Register

  • Dec 19, 2022
  • 2 min read

The related parties table forms the base for any director, shareholder, trustees, member or beneficial ownership entity that is not a client you offer services to.

If you add a client to the Related Parties table or to the Clients table, you can easily pull their information through to the Directors, Share Register, Trust Register, Member or Beneficial Ownership tables. If any of the clients' details change, updating the record in Related Parties will update it across the entire system.

The Related Parties table is located in the left navigation below Clients and Client Roles. If you do not see this table, please ask your manager for access.

The image below illustrates the flow of data between the Clients and Related Parties tables.

To add a client to the Related Parties table:

  • Go to the table

  • Click on Add Record in the top right

  • Complete the form

  • Save

Link to Directors, Trust Register, or Members

You can now link this related party or an active client to the Directors, Trust Register, or Members tables by:

  • Clicking on the client in the Client table

  • Going to the additional details menu. Depending on the Entity type of the client you have clicked on, you might see one of these tabs: Directors, Members or Trust Register.

  • Click on the applicable option

To add a record to these tabs:

  • Click on 'ADD RECORD'.

  • A form will open where you can add details.

  • The Client field under the Company section will autofill.

  • Under the Client Name section, you can select from your Existing Client dropdown. This will show active clients from the Client table, as well as all clients added to the Related Parties table.

  • Once you save, details will automatically pull through from the Clients or Related Parties table. If any details are missing after you save, update them in the main client record in the Clients or Related Parties table, then resave the record in the Directors/Members/Trust Register table.

  • Once you are done adding all the records you need, you can close both windows by clicking the X in the top-right corner.

Run the Action in the Directors table

You can easily add any record from the Directors table to the Share Register and Beneficial Ownership Declaration tables.

To do this:

  • Go to the Directors tab

  • Select the records that you want to copy over by checking the checkboxes to the left of the record

  • Go to 'Actions' and select 'Copy to Share Register' or 'Copy to Beneficial Ownership'

Click on the following links to see how to add clients that are not directors to the Shareholder table and the Beneficial Ownership table.
